Privacy Policy
Summary: VroomVoice does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The app has no internet access — it does not request the network permission, so it is technically incapable of sending data off your device. Everything the app knows stays on your phone.
What the app stores on your device
VroomVoice stores the following information locally on your device only, to make the app work:
- Bluetooth device names and addresses of car stereos you choose to set up, so the app can recognize which vehicle your phone connected to. These identifiers never leave your device.
- Your chosen announcement sound (a reference to an audio file you picked).
- An optional vehicle photo you pick or take, stored as a cropped copy in the app's private storage.
- Your chosen music app and playback preferences for each vehicle.
This data is excluded from cloud backup and is deleted when you uninstall the app or delete a vehicle profile within the app.
What the app does NOT do
- No data collection, analytics, or telemetry
- No advertising and no ad identifiers
- No accounts, sign-ins, or cloud services
- No location access
- No sharing or selling of data to anyone, ever
Permissions the app requests, and why
- Nearby devices (Bluetooth): to detect when your phone connects to your car's Bluetooth so the announcement can play. Used only for detection; the app never pairs with, reads data from, or transmits to any device.
- Notifications: to show the required playback notification while an announcement plays.
- Display over other apps: used solely as the Android mechanism that allows the app to open your chosen music app after the announcement while running in the background. VroomVoice never draws anything on top of other apps.
- Photos/camera access (optional, via the system picker): only if you choose to add a vehicle photo. The app only receives the single photo you pick or take.
Children
VroomVoice is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone (it does not collect information at all).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Because the app has no network access, any material change to data handling would require an app update through Google Play.
